:computer: I am currently a senior data scientist at StackAdapt, a programmatic ad tech company based in Toronto, ON.

:microscope: I am interested in technologies at the intersection of machine learning, natural language processing and information retrieval.

:deciduous_tree: More broadly, I am fascinated by the Renaissance ideal informed by multiple disciplines.

:mortar_board: I completed my Master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, ON, Canada under the supervision of Prof. Jimmy Lin in the Data Systems Group.

:school_satchel: Previously, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.

  • I am now a senior data scientist at StackAdapt as of November. I’m looking forward to continuing to work on exciting projects with an amazing team.

  • I moved back to Kitchener-Waterloo in June to enjoy a slower pace of life. Let me know if you are in the area and would like to grab a coffee sometime!

  • I adopted a puppy in March that has since changed my life. Welcome home, Maple!

  • I am excited to be starting a new position as Data Scientist at StackAdapt in February!

  • I ran the Introduction to Information Retrieval lab at AFIRM 2020 in Cape Town, South Africa on January 27th with Prof. Charles Clarke.

  • I presented two posters (#3533 and #87) at EMNLP 2019 in Hong Kong between November 3-7 .
